Governance before deployment
A practical framework for responsible AI decisions.
The framework converts ethical commitments into defined authority, documented evidence, risk controls, human review, monitoring, and corrective action.
Define Purpose
State the intended use, affected people, prohibited uses, expected benefits, and decisions the system may influence.
Assign Accountability
Name the executive owner, operational owner, reviewers, escalation authority, and person responsible for final decisions.
Classify Risk
Evaluate severity, likelihood, reversibility, affected populations, data sensitivity, professional duties, and reliance risk.
Require Evidence
Document testing, limitations, data quality, bias evaluation, security, privacy, explainability, and vendor representations.
Establish Human Review
Define when people must inspect, challenge, override, escalate, or decline automated recommendations.
Monitor and Correct
Track performance, incidents, complaints, drift, equity, changed conditions, and triggers for suspension or retirement.
